Stocks slide down as major sectors dip

Stocks continued to slide down for the third session of the week on Tuesday as most of the major sectors closed lower.All the indices at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended in negative territory, with DSEX losing 10.38 points to 4523.66, DS30 1.57 points to 1734.78 and DSES 2.91 points to 1098.65.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the day with same trend when its major CASPI index closing 22.32 points down at 13,902.89.
The daily turnover in volume at DSE was at 12.70 crore shares when the daily trade value was Taka 531.13 crore.
Among the traded 323 issues at DSE, 74 closed higher against 193 losing issues. At CSE, 130 issues lost when 81 finished the day higher.
The top five gaining companies in DSE were IFIC, Mozaffar Hossain Spinning, Continental Insurance, GPH Ispat and Dorin Power.
The major losers included National Tubes, Zeal Bangla Sugar, Rahim Textile, Agrani Insurance and Renwick Ja.
Beximco Pharma topped the turnover list followed by shahjibazar power, Square Pharma, Delta Brac Housing and National Tubes.
