The stock market continued to fall for the third consecutive day due to profit booking tendency among investors.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), dropped 9 points, or 0.13 per cent, to 7,013.
However, turnover, an important indicator of the stock market, increased 7 per cent to Tk 1,314 crore from the previous day’s Tk 1,226 crore. At the DSE, 156 stocks advanced, 176 dropped and 36 remained the same.
Emerald Oil topped the gainers’ list that rose 9.96 per cent followed by Acme Pesticides, Sena Kalyan Insurance, One Bank, and Golden Son.
GPH Ispat shed mostly that dropped 11 per cent followed by Navana CNG, Dominage Steel, Provati Insurance, and Rahim Textiles.
Stocks of Beximco Ltd traded mostly that worth Tk 161 crore followed by One Bank, First Security Islami Bank, Fortune Shoes, and Kattali Textiles.
