Stocks witnessed upward trends on Tuesday as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges rose up on higher transactions.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 1,176.91 crore from
Monday’s Taka 903.38 crore and the daily trade also rose to 29.68 crore share from 24.80 crore share of the previous session.
The broader DSEX of DSE closed the day with 35.53 points up at 6,252.14. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 16.04 points up at 2,277.91 and with 13.85 points up at 1,363.33.
At DSE, out of the day’s 329 securities, prices of 128 securities closed higher against 166 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were United Insurance, IPDC, 1STPRMFMF, Dhaka Insurance and MTB while the major losing issues were ACI, Style Craft, OIMEX, BD Thai and Monno Ceramics.
City Bank topped the turnover list followed by AB Bank, GP, Dhaka Bank and ACI.
