Stocks closed the session of the week on Wednesday upward with rising trend of major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges on higher activities of large-cap securities.
The rising major sectors of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) were textile, ceramics and food and allied.
A total of 130 securities of the large-cap group moved up due to higher activities.
The broader DSEX of DSE closed the day with 33.51 points up at 6,001.53. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 8.68 points up at 2,181.88 and with 2.30 points up at 1,323.89.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 582.83 crore from Tuesday’s Taka 536.07 crore and the daily trade rose to 16.51 crore shares from 12.27 crore shares of the previous session.
At DSE, out of the day’s 331 securities, prices of 173 securities closed higher against 110 losing issues.
