Stocks see up on large-cap vibe

Stocks finished the session of the week on Monday in green as large-cap securities vibrated with rising trend at both the Dhaka and Chittagong Stock exchanges.
The rising major sectors included insurance and textile. A total of 151 securities of the large-cap group incurred gain due to higher market activities.
The broader index DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) finished the session with 17.18 points up at 5478.82. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES followed it with 1.87 points up at 2032.88 and with 1.70 points up at 1262.27 respectively.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 540.89 crore from Sunday’s Taka 473.39 crore and the daily trade rose to 15.51 crore shares from 14.43 crore shares of the previous session.
At DSE, out of the day’s 328 securities, prices of 183 securities closed higher against 91 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Asia Pacific Insurance, Nurani Dying, Anlima Yarn, Reliance Insurance and Safko Spinning. The major losing companies were Shyampur Sugar, Standard Insurance, Jute Spinning, Rahima Food and United Air.
Regent Textile topped the turnover leaders followed by Nurani Dying, Orion Pharma, PTL and Argon Denim.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also finished Monday’s session in green, with major CASPI index closing 51.73 points up at 16967.99.
