Stocks see up on large-cap vibe

Stocks finished the session of the week today in green as large-cap securities vibrated with rising trend at both the Dhaka and Chittagong Stock exchanges.
The rising major sectors included textile and also fuel and power when 114 securities of the large-cap group incurred upward trend due to higher activities. Food and allied sector and some textile companies declined at the day’s closing marginally.
The broader DSEX index of DSE scored 16.79 points to rise up to 4689.18. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also were in the following trend at 1762.81 by achieving 6 points and at 1124.47 by acquiring 5.476 points respectively.
The CSE also closed the day upward with its major CASPI index closing at 14,393.78 by scoring 32.38 points.
The transactions at DSE were 16.32 crore shares valued at total Taka 633.92 crore.
At DSE, out of the day’s 321 traded issues, price of 144 securities closed higher against 125 losing issues. At CSE, issues traded were 236 while 109 closed higher against 97 closing lower.
The major gaining issues were Argon Denims, CVO Petrochemical Refinery, Doreen Power, Shasha Denims and Evince Textile. The major losing issues were RD Food, Fine Foods, Desco, All Tex and Tallu Spinning.
Doreen Power topped the turnover leaders followed by Confidence Cement, Shasha Denims, Brac Bank and Square Pharmaceutical.
