Stocks rise for 2nd day

Share prices in the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) continued to rise for the second consecutive day on Tuesday.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the DSE, rose 14 points, 0.21 per cent, to 6,753 at the end of the day.
At the DSE, 163 stocks advanced, 168 fell and 46 remained the same.
Zeal Bangla Sugar Mills topped the gainers’ list that rose 9.96 per cent followed by Imam Button, Takaful Islami Insurance, Sunlife Insurance, and Dulamia Cotton.
Beximco Ltd traded mostly worth Tk 117 crore followed by Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, Orion Pharmaceuticals, Fortune Shoes, and Saif Powertec.
Unilever Consumer Care bled mostly that dropped 6.17 per cent followed by Tallu Spinning Mills, Crown Cement, Bengal Windsor and Sonargaon Textiles.
Turnover at the premier bourse hit Tk 798 crore, which was 9.31 per cent higher than the previous day’s Tk 730 crore.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also rose on Tuesday. The CASPI, the main index of the CSE, increased 78 points, or 0.39 per cent, to 19,719.
Among the traded 302 stocks, 148 rose, 114 fell and 40 remained unchanged.
