The expectation was high that the index would cross the 5000 points barrier again, but it finished the day marginally lower at 4992.00 with adding 59.10 points or 1.19 percent to the last session’s closing.
“Rising from the oversold state, market has upheld it bullish trend with almost 250 points up in last three trading sessions,” said Lanka Bangla Securities Limited.
The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also showed strong trend when shares across the board gained on higher participation. The DS30 closed the day 16.39 points or 0.89 percent higher at 1853.83 when the DSES ended 12.35 points or 1.07 percent up at 1166.37.
The news about higher remittance inflow in November also influenced people to inject fresh fund into market where share prices of many companies came down to lucrative level.
“Since bullishness prevailed in the last two consecutive sessions, investors find confidence of coming back to the market again. Besides, expectations continued matching lucrative price level, which enforced fresh fund injection,” said IDLC Investment Limited.
