Stocks performed mixed on Wednesday with major indices finishing flat despite increasing the daily transactions.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 389.05 crore from Tuesday’s Taka 321.92 crore and the daily trade rose to 9.39 crore shares from 8.03 crore shares of the previous session.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange closed the day with 6.51 points up at 5,804.94. The Shariah DSES and the blue-Chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 4.88 point up at 1,361.04 and 5.20 points up at 2,146.37.
At DSE, out of the day’s 335 securities, prices of 131 securities closed higher against 150 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were EBL1STMF, OIMEX, Wata Chemical, Premier Cement and BBS Cables. The major losing issues were IPDC, Fine Foods, Modern Dying, Zaheen Spinning and Samata Leather.
Ifad Autos topped the turnover list followed by Lanka Bangla Finance, Lafarge Surma Cement, Square Pharma and Al Al-Arafah Islam Bank.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with downward trend with its major CASPI 16.44 points down at 17,926.43.
CSE, issues traded 227 while 77 closed higher against 113 closed lower when 69.43 lakh shares worth Taka 27.97 crore changed hands.
