Stocks performed mixed on Monday with major indices finishing flat despite increasing the daily transactions.The day’s trade value at DSE rose moderately to Taka 687.11 crore from Sunday’s Taka 573.76 crore and the daily trade increased to 18.49 crore shares from 14.72 crore shares of the previous session.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) finished the day with 33.43 points down at 6,262.77. The blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 7.68 points down at 2,266.30. But the Shariah DSES closed the day with 4.70 points up at 1,387.48.
Out of 331 traded issues, 184 incurred loss when 110 closed with some gains. The mutual funds also experienced a bad day, with 11 funds ending lower against only 10 gaining scrips.
Among the most losing securities were SPCL, VAMLBDMF1, LRGLOBMF1, GBB Power and ICB Islami Bank while the gaining issues were BENGALWTL, Aamra Technology, Peninsula Chittagong, BD Com and Fortune Shoes.
