Stocks witnessed flat on Monday with falling trend of most of the major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges despite higher transactions.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 532 crore from Sunday’s Taka 420.24 crore and the daily trade also rose to 16.10 crore share from 12.66 crore share of the previous session.
The broader DSEX of the DSE closed the day with 11.94 points down at 5,584.97. But, the blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES closed the day with 3.11 point up at 1,964.89 and with 0.54 points up at 1272.88 respectively.
At DSE, out of the day’s 334 securities, prices of 145 securities closed higher against 155 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were KDSALTD, MIDASFIN, INTRACO, Beximco and SKTRIMS while the major losing issues were Zeal Bangla, Green Delta, Karnaphuli, Saiham Textile and Rupali Insurance.
Beximco topped the turnover list followed by Active Fine, UPGDCL, BBS Cables and Lanka Bangla Finance.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 3.15 points up at 17,213.85. At the CSE, 245 issues traded while 121 closed higher against 99 closed lower when 94.09 lakh shares worth Taka 25.63 crore changed hands.
