Stocks opened week up with all indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges were found rising trend on higher activities of some large-cap securities.
The rising major sectors were textile and insurance. A total of 181 securities of the large-cap group moved up on higher activities.
The broader DSEX index of the DSE closed the session with 62.91 points up at 5,860.22. The Shariah DSES and the blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 11.21 points up at 1,329.87 and with 18.68 points up at 2,030.43 respectively.
The volume of shares rose to 24.72 crore from Thursday’s 22.48 crore shares and the daily turnover in value at DSE increased to Taka 973.94 crore from Thursday’s Taka 897.58 crore.
At the DSE, price of 228 securities out of the day’s 344 traded issues closed higher against 76 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Saiham Textile, Sonar Bangla Insurance, Agrani Insurance, Paramount and United Insurance. The major losing issues were Dulamia Cotton, First Finance, Islami Insurance, Standard Insurance and Bengal WTL.
BBS Cables topped the turnover leaders followed by KPCL, Olympic, CVOPRL and Dhaka Bank.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 179.13 points up at 17,945.10.
