Stocks open week up on higher transactions

Stocks opened the week on Sunday upward with rising trend of all indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock exchanges on higher transactions.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 930.23 crore from Thursday’s Taka 782.11 crore and the daily trade also rose to 25.87 crore shares from 20.61 crore shares of the previous session.
The broader price DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day with 30 points up at 5,915.42. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 7.16 points up at 2,118.50 and with 2.79 points up at 1,308.41 respectively.
At DSE, out of the day’s 330 securities, prices of 151 closed higher against 144 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Monno Ceramics, Standard Ceramic, BBS Cables, Aramit Cement and Fortune Shoes. The major losing issues were ATCSLGF, PF1STMF, ICBSONALI1, Central Insurance and RN Spinning.
BBS topped the turnover list followed by Fortune Shoes, BBS Cables, Lanka Bangla Finance and RSRM Steel. The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 90.82 points up at 18,351.42.
At CSE, 250 issues were traded. Of those, 115 closed higher and 106 closed lower while 1.60 crore shares worth Taka 52.63 crore changed hands.
