Stock market opened the week flat on Sunday when daily transaction declined on lower demand.
The boarder DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) finished the first day of the week 9.58 points down at 4409.40, with the blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES followed it to close at 1737.40 and 1083.48 respectively.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also opened the week down, with its major CSCX index closing about 11.28 points down at 8263.06.
The daily turnover in volume at DSE fell by 6.90 percent to about 8.06 crore shares when the daily trade value decline by 2.56 percent to about Taka 331.97 crore.
Among the traded 316 issues at DSE, 169 closed lower against 90 gaining issues.
At CSE, 123 issues lost when 63 finished the day higher.
The DSE top five gaining companies were Exim 1st Mutual Fund, QSMDRYCELL , SINOBANGLA Industry, Saif Power and 8th ICB. The major losers included REGENTTEX , HFL , MODERNDYE , ANLIMAYARN and MIDASFIN .
ACMELAB topped the turnover list followed by Linde BD, BSRM Limited, SPCL and Lafarge Surma.
