Stocks open the week downward

Stocks opened the week on Sunday downward as all indices on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) returned to red zone due to selling binge.
The turnover and trade volume on the DSE witnessed a falling trend as the turnover declined to Tk 371.72 core from the Thursday’s Tk 425.11 crore and the daily trade volume came down to 11.08 crore shares from previous session’s 11.64 crore shares.
The broader DSEX index of the DSE closed the day with 69.81 points down to close at 5,212.23. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 23.22 points down to settle at 1852.84 and 13.37 points down to finish at 1,210.42.
At the DSE, losers beat the gainers as out of the day’s 339 traded securities, 64 gained against 247 losing issues. The five top gaining issues were Mozaffer Hossain Spinning Mill, Monno Ceramic, National Polymer, Nurani Dyeing and Pacific Denims while five top losers were Indo-Bangla Pharma, Shinepukur Ceramics, EXIM Bank, Sonargaon Textile and Bengal Windsor.
