Stocks opened the week today downward with falling trend of major indices at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges on lower transactions.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day with 58.87 points lower at 5,475.55. The Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 10.03 points down at 1263.91. But the blue-chip DS30 closed the day 18.58 points down at 2016.14.
Out of the traded issues on DSE, 80 gained against 209 losing issues.
The day’s trade value at DSE stood at Tk 614.75 crore and 19.38 shares exchanged hands.
The top five gainers of the day were Standard Ceramics, Daffodil Computers, Reliance Insurance, BDCOM and Prime Insurance Company.
The major losing issues of the day included Takaful Insurance, Southeast Bank, Zahintex, Shahjalal Bank and Tosrifa Industries.
