Stocks maintain upward trend for 4th straight days

Stock markets maintained upward trend for the fourth consecutive days of the week on Tuesday due to higher transactions.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 562.71 crore from Monday’s Taka 502.42 crore and the daily trade also rose to 10.96 crore shares from 10 crore shares of the previous session.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day with 11.72 points up at 6,206.72. The Shariah DSES and the blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 4.70 points up at 1,433.17 and with 16.71 points up at 2,302.44.
At DSE, out of the day’s 334 securities, prices of 130 securities closed higher against 145 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Monno Ceramics, Aziz Pipes, MJL BD, Legacy Foot and Anwar Galvanizing. The major losing companies were United Insurance, BD Auto Cars, AIL, Jamuna Bank and Bangas Limited.
Square Pharma topped the turnover list followed by Beximco Pharma, GP, Ifad Autos and DSSL. The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with downward trend with its major CASPI 38.52 points up at 19,156.81.
At CSE, 238 issues were traded. Of those, 95 closed higher and 118 closed lower when 63.34 lakh shares worth Taka 21.41 crore changed hands.
