Stocks maintain recovery on higher transaction

Stock markets closed on Wednesday upward with maintaining recovery for the third consecutive session of the week with rising participation of investors particularly around large-cap stocks reflecting the daily turnover.
The trade value on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) was Taka 503.94 crore and the volume was 13.59 crore shares. On CSE, the trade value was Taka 25.43 crore for 90.88 lakh shares.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) added 8.98 points on Wednesday to finish at 4595.24. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES, however, ended flat in red at 1771.62 and 1122.57 respectively.
Like DSE, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also maintained recovery trend on Wednesday, with its major CASPI index advancing by 13.23 points to 14,125.94.
At DSE, out of the 323 issues traded, 139 advanced against 141 losing issues while CSE saw prices of 119 scripts rising against 103 declining.
The trading was active mostly around the large cap securities that prompted price rise of 121 issues of this cap group. Some investors were also busy in getting cash by selling mutual funds that resulted in price fall of 12 funds.
The day’s major gainers were National Tubes, Rahim Text, Intech Online, Style Craft and IPDC. The major losers included Meghna Petroleum, Zeal Bangla, BD Auto Cars, Gemini Sea and Meghna Condense Milk.
National Tubes topped the turnover list followed by Square Pharma, Apex
tannery, Aman Feed and BSC.
