Country’s both the bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) on Sunday also witnessed an upward trend like earlier as investors continued their buying spree on large- cap issues amid optimism. DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 68.52 points or 1.24 per cent to settle at 5,584.30.
The DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 43.37 points to finish at 2,156.05 and 7.87 points closing at 1,256.46.
Turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, stood at Taka 8767.524 million on the country’s premier bourse which was Taka 7075.445 million.
Gainers took a modest lead over the losers, as out of issues 355 traded, 122 closed green, 133 in the red and 100 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor. BATBC topped the turnover chart, followed by LHBL, Sumit Power, Robi and Beximco.
LHBL was the day’s best performer, posting a gain of 9.51 per cent while VAMLRBBF was the worst loser, losing 9.28 percent, reports BSS.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also ended higher with the CSE All Share Price Index – CASPI -advancing 224.08 points to settle at 16,200.44 and the Selective Categories Index – CSCX gaining 137.75 points to close at 9770.93.
Of the issues traded, 95 advanced, 83 declined and 55 remained unchanged on the CSE.
