Stocks keep rising

The prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange rose for the third consecutive day on Monday due to the higher participation of the investors.
On Monda, the DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), jumped 29 points, or 0.42 per cent, to 6,882.
At the DSE, 217 stocks advanced, 132 fell and 28 remained the same.
Turnover at the premier bourse hit Tk 1,314 crore, up 47 per cent from the previous day’s Tk 894 crore.
The share of eGeneration topped the gainers’ list with a 9.98 per cent rise followed by Fareast Life Insurance, Taufika Foods and Lovello Ice-Cream, Ring Shine Textiles, and RN Spinning Mills.
Sonali Paper shed mostly that dropped 7.49 per cent followed by Atlas Bangladesh, Libra Infusion, AMCL Pran, and Dacca Dyeing.
Beximco topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 181 crore changing hands followed by Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, Fortune Shoes, Power Grid, and The Peninsula Chittagong.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also continued to go up. The CASPI, the main index of the CSE, soared 102 points, or 0.51 per cent, to 20,157. Among traded 306 stocks, 190 rose, 92 fell and 24 remained unchanged.
