Stocks finished every session of the week in upward trend with the highest position of indices in the past several months.
DSEX-the broader index of DSE- gained 5.20 points to finish the day at 4665.35- highest in the last eight months.
The Shariah DSES, also followed the same trend, was 2.35 points higher at 1120.50. But the DS30 index closed the day 2.43 points down at 1771.02.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) finished Thursday up, with its general CASPI gaining 23.98 points to close at 14,330.
At DSE, out of the day’s 323 traded issues, 129 closed higher against 147 losing scrips. At CSE, 255 issues traded while 123 closed higher against 103 closed lower.
The trade value on DSE was Taka 555.21 crore and the volume was 15.81 crore shares. The CSE also saw lower activities when 1.21 crore shares changed hands for Taka 41.03 crore. The top five gaining securities were Renwick Ja, Exim Bank First Mutual Fund, GSP Finance, Bay Leasing and EBL NRB Mutual Fund. The major losing companies included Keya Cosmetics, Jute Spinning, Prime Insurance, Style Craft and Global Insurance.
Yeakin Polymer topped the turnover leaders followed by United Power, Lanka Bangla Finance, Bangladesh Submarine Cables and SPCL.
