Country’s both the stocks finished week maintaining the winning streak as optimistic investors showed appetite on sector-wise issues.
At the premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the broad index, DSEX settled at 4927.82 points on Thursday, last working day of week, with a gain of 36.29 points or 0.74 percent.
Besides, two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and Shariah index, DSES also went up marginally by 0.76 points and 4.48 points to settle at 1715.41 points and 1141.82 points respectively.
On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 218,483 trades were executed in the day’s trading session with a trading volume of 359.80 million securities.
On the other hand, DSE’s turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, stood at Taka 10.93 billion from Taka 12.01 billion in the previous session.
Gainers took lead over losers as out of 355 issues traded, 221 securities gained price while 109 declined and 25 remained unchanged.
The market-cap of DSE increased to Taka 3,725 billion which was Taka 3,706 billion in the previous session.
The top 10 gainers were AB Bank, CVO Petrochemical, Prime Insurance, CAPM IBBL MF, Fine Foods, Samorita Hospital, United Finance, Apolo Ishpat, Summit Alliance Port and SEML LEC MF.
Beximco Pharma topped the turnover chart followed by Beximco Limited, Orion Pharma, Brac Bank, Lankabangla Finance, Eastern Insurance, Express Insurance, Baraka Power, Square Pharma and Grameenphone.
The top ten losers were Express Insurance, Miracle Industries, Asia Insurance, United Insurance, Sonargaon Textile, ICB Islami Bank, Takaful Islami Insurance, Beach Hatchery, Meghna Petroleum and RN Spinning.
On the other hand, port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed trading at green extending the winning streak of previous day.
CSCX and CASPI rose by 54.56 points and 87.85 points to stand at 8480.30 points and 14061.61 points respectively.
At CSE, a total of 16,229,188 share and mutual funds of 275 companies were traded, of which 167 issues advanced while 73 declined and 35 issues remained unchanged.
