Stocks extended the gaining streak on Sunday to open week in positive mode when all the market indicators closed the session in green. The stock market also finished last three sessions of previous week upward.
The DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) maintained uptrend on the opening day of the week, with23.45 points gains to finish at 4721.99 when the blue-chip DS30 closed the day at 1763.81 and the Shariah DSES ended at 1126.59.
Market activities were higher from beginning of the day that pushed the prices of the majority of the traded issues up. Out of the day’s 311 issues traded, 158 gained, 107 incurred loss and 46 remained static.
The major gaining sectors included paper and printing, food and allied, miscellaneous, textile and bank while the most losing sectors were engineering and IT sectors.
Hakkani Pulp, Emerald Oil, Miracle Industries, Dragon Sweater and AB Bank were the top five advancing issues while Desh Garments, National Polymer, Aman Feeds, Saiham Cotton and BD Com. AB Bank topped the turnover list followed by Quasem Drycell, National Tea, Bangladesh Building System and Mithun Knitting.
