Stocks ended the week on Thursday upward with rising trend of major indices at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges on higher transactions.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the week with 6.29 points up at 5540.71. The Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 1.14 points up at 1275.08. But the blue-chip DS30 closed the week with one point down at 2033.72.
Out of the 332 issues traded on DSE, 130 gained against 183 losing issues.
The week’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 758.83 crore from the last session of previous week Taka 698.84 crore and the weekly trade also rose to 24.86 crore shares from 21.93 crore of the previous week.
The top five gainers of the week were BD Finance, Beach Hatchery, FAS Finance, First Finance and RD Food. The major losing issues of the week included Janata Insurance, Takaful Insurance, MI Cement, Zahin Textile and Asia Pacific Insurance.
The top five turnover leaders were UPGDCL, LankaBangla Finance, SPCL, Saif Power and BD Finance.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week up, with its major CASPI index ending 17.51 points higher at 17178.95.
