Stocks ended the week today upward with rising trend of major indices at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges on higher transactions.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the week with 12.76 points higher at 5,534.42. The Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 1.70 points up at 1273.94. But the blue-chip DS30 closed the week 15.72 points down at 2034.72.
Out of the 333 issues traded on DSE, 130 gained against 172 losing issues. The week’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 698.84 crore from the last session of previous week Taka 557.89 crore and the weekly trade also rose to 21.93 crore shares from 18.23 crore of the previous week.
The top five gainers of the week were Prime Insurance Company, Premier Leasing and Finance, International Leasing and Financial Services, Mercantile Bank and National Bank.
