Stocks ended the week on Thursday mixed with falling trend of major indices at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges despite higher transactions.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the week with 7.42 points down at 5468.32. The Shariah DSES and the blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 6.42 points down at 1261.91 and with 5.73 points down at 2031.29.
Out of the 333 issues traded on DSE, 139 gained against 161 losing issues.
The week’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 530.16 crore from the last session of previous week Taka 517.12 crore and the weekly trade also rose to 16.72 crore shares from 14.03 crore of the previous week.
The top five gainers of the week were SP Ceramics, Rahima Food, Fine Foods, ICB 2nd NRB and UCB. The major losing issues of the week included First Finance, Asian Insurance, YPL, SEMLIBBLSF and Republic.
