Stocks end week down

Stocks ended the week on Thursday downward trend with falling of major indices at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the week with 24.85 points down at 6,039.56. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 9.17 points down at 2,188.29 and with 4.25 points down at 1329.42.
Out of the 335 issues traded on DSE, 159 gained against 153 losing issues.
The daily average trade value at DSE was 38 percent down at Taka 573.61 crore and the trade volume was 46.4 percent down at 15.34 crore shares.
The top five gainers of the week were Wata Chemicals, Desh Garments, SAVAREFR, Modern Dying and EBL1STMF. The major losing issues of the week were Mithun Knitting, Padma Life, SIBL, Style Craft and Shurwid.
The top five turnover leaders were Ifad Autos, Uttara Bank, BRAC Bank, Aamra Net and Lanka Bangla Finance.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week down, with its major CASPI index ending 82.2 points lower at 18,743.72.
