Stocks end higher Wednesday

Country’s stock market marked significant gain in its price indices on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week.
DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, rose over 36.55 points only to stand at 4679.80 at the close of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 151977 with volume of transactions at Tk 6557.40 million.
Of the issues traded, 209 advanced, 87 declined and 25 remained unchanged.
UPGDCL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 363.58 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were BEXIMCO, BXPHARMA, EMERALDOIL, IFADAUTOS, KPCL, KDSALTD, BDTHAI, SUMITPOWER and ALARABANK.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8688.37 by gaining over 49.83 points.
Out of the issues traded, 149 gained, 65 declined and 29 remained unchanged.
Talking to the Former President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Sabur Khan urged the large multinational companies to invest in the capital market to make it a viabrant sector.
Sabur Khan also urged the financial instituins to invest more in captital market.
The large corporate company like Uniliver should come to invest in the capital market.
