The Dhaka stocks dropped on Sunday due to the profit-booking tendency among investors.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), plummeted 54 points to 6,932, dragged down by a 4.87 per cent loss in Robi Axiata.
Its blue-chip index eroded 23 points, or 0.92 per cent, to 2,579.
At the DSE, 98 stocks advanced, 248 declined and 32 remained the same.
Khulna Printing and Packaging topped the gainers’ list that gained 10 per cent followed by Bashundhara Paper, Fareast Islami Life Insurance, Rangpur Foundry, and AMCL Pran.
Shyampur Sugar Mills shed mostly that eroded 7.25 per cent followed by RSRN Steel, S Alam Cold Rolled Steel, Delta Life Insurance, and BD Thai Aluminium.
Stocks of Beximco Ltd was top traded stocks worth Tk 104 crore followed by Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, Delta Life Insurance, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh, and Power Grid.
Turnover of the DSE down 13 per cent to Tk 1,461 crore.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also dropped. The CASPI, the main index of the CSE edged down 183 points, or 0.89 per cent, to 20,311.
Among 304 traded stocks, 86 advanced, 194 fell and 24 remained unchanged.
