Stocks continue to gain on large-cap vibe

Stocks continued to maintain an upward trend for the third consecutive session of the week as the major indices have been found finishing upwards with marginal rise of some large-cap securities.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) finished the third session of the week 4.67 points up at 4568.36. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES followed it by 2.76 points up at 1754.31 and 0.42 points up at 1106.98 respectively.
Similarly, the prime CASPI index at Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) was 22.47 points up at 14,043.73.
At DSE, the transaction volume of the total shares was 10.58 crore and the total value of the shares was Taka 475.86 crore.
At DSE, out of the day’s 310 traded issues, 140 closed higher against 112 losing scrips. At CSE, 227 issues traded while 99 issued higher against 88 issued lower. The major gaining issues were Apex Food, Global Heavy, Ambee Pharma, KDS Accessories and Prime Insurance.
The major losing companies were Reliance 1, United Air, Meghna Life Insurance, Pragati Insurance and Al-haj Textile.
SPCL topped the turnover leaders followed by Square Pharma, Doreen Power, Singer Bangladesh, Lafarge Surma Cement and Al-haj Textile.
