Stocks market on Tuesday continued the upward trend, driven mainly by buying activities of some large-cap securities of jute, spinning, textile and insurance sectors.
All the major sectors gained on the day, enabling price indices maintain positions in green zone at the country’s twin stock exchanges.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) finished the second session of the week 18.65 points up at 4552.37. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES followed it by 7.87 points up at 1782.67 and 4.49 points up at 1117.75 respectively.
Similarly, the prime CASPI index at Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) was 38 points up at 13,990.23.
The transaction at DSE was also up when volume of the total shares was 10.48 crore and the total value of the shares was Taka 440.83 crore.
At DSE, out of the day’s 324 traded issues, 185 closed higher against 94 losing scrips. At CSE, 242 issues traded while 129 issued higher against 77 issued lower.
The major gaining issues were Sonali Aansh Industries Limited (SONALIANSH), Northern Jute, Tallu Spinning Mills Limited (TALLUSPIN), Renwick Ja and Zaheen Spinning.
