Stocks ended the week on Thursday upward with rising trend of major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges on higher transactions.
The daily average trade value at DSE was 6.28 percent up at Taka 605.52 crore and the trade volume was 26.40 percent up at 17.68 crore shares.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the week with 80.76 points up at 6,099.02. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also closed the week with 27.57 points up at 2,201.46 and with 12.63 points up at 1,329.11.
Out of the 337 traded securities, 192 closed higher against 127 losing issues when 17 remained unchanged.
During the week, the top five gainers were Salvo Chemical Industry, Dragon Sweater and Spinning, Intech Limited, Keya Cosmetics and National Bank.
The five major losing companies included Hakkani Pulp and Paper, Desh Garments, Rangpur Foundry, Safko Spinnings and Wata Chemicals.
The top five turnover leaders were Lanka Bangla Finance, BRAC Bank, City Bank, Exim Bank and BBS Cables.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week up, with its major CASPI index ending 313.68 points higher at 18,911.64.
