Stocks close week up before 9-day Eid holiday

Stock market closed week on Thursday upward through maintaining a steady rise for the fourth consecutive session. There will be no share trading at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges in the next nine days as the market will remain closed for Eid-ul-Fitr.
DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) finished the week at 4507.58, which was 37.32 points up over the previous session. The broader index of the premier bourse began the week downward, but it started showing recovery trend at the second session that continued for rest of the week.
Similarly, the blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES finished the week up at 1770.82 and 1110.84 respectively.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week up, with showing strong recovery in its broader CASPI index that finished at 13802.58, advancing by 108.94 points over the last session.
The trade value at DSE was only Taka 265.75 crore on Sunday, the opening day of the week, but it rose significantly to Taka 377.28 crore on Thursday.
The daily trade volume was down in the first trading sessions, which also improved in the last four sessions, with increasing to 10.67 crore shares at the week’s close.
