Stocks closed the week on Thursday upward with rising trend of all the indices at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges on higher activities of some large-cap securities.
The broader DSEX of the DSE finished the week with 46.09 points up at 5,332.81.The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES closed the week with 1.89 points up at 1,862.49 and with 0.73 point up at 1,224.20 respectively.
Out of the 350 issues traded at the DSE, 222 issues gained against 99 losing issues.
During the week, the daily average trade volume increased by 21.40 percent to 18.47 crore shares. But, the average trade value fell by 8.60 percent to 600.71 crore shares.
The top five gainers of the week were Sonali Ansh, ALLTEX, TUNGHAI, RN Spinning and KPPL. The major losing issues of the week were MLDYEING, Monno Stafflers, Central PHL, Prime Textile and FEKDIL.
The top five turnover leaders were DSSL, Saiham Cotton, MLDYEING, UPGDCL
and Intech.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week up with its
major CASPI index ending 182.38 points higher at 16,364.70.
