Stocks close week mixed with higher transactions

Stocks today closed the week mixed with falling trend of most of the major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock exchanges on higher transactions.
The broader DSEX of the DSE finished the week with 79.43 points down at 5,286.75. But, the blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES closed the day with 6.64 points up at 1,870.58 and with 10.10 points down at 1,224.97 respectively.
Out of the 350 issues traded at the DSE today, 156 issues gained against 166 losing issues.
During the week, the daily average trade value increased by 12.20 percent to Taka 383.34 crore and the average trade volume rose by 18.60 percent to 10.32 crore shares. The top five gainers of the week were GENEXIL, National Polymer, ADVENT, Standard Ceramics and GOLDENSON while the major losing issues of the week were Agrani Insurance, ACI, Malek Spinning, Bata Shoe and Berger PBL.
The top five turnover leaders were Fortune, National Polymer, Monno Ceramics, UPGDCL and GENEXIL.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week up with its major CASPI index ending 14.28 points higher at 16,160.77.
