Stocks closed the week down on Thursday with falling trends of all major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges amid volatility in large-cap securities despite higher transactions.
During the week, the daily average trade value increased by 28.22 percent to Taka 353.89 crore and the average trade volume went up by 38.88 percent to 11.29 crore shares.
The broader DSEX of the DSE finished the week with 140.01 points down at 5,580.59. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 33.83 points down at 2,082.27 and with 26.74 points down at 1,322.01 respectively.
Out of the 341 issues traded at DSE, 52 gained against 269 losing issues.
