Stocks close week down

Stocks finished the week on Thursday downward with falling trend of major indices at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges on lower transactions.
The boarder DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the week with 77.64 points down at 6,092.84. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 19.92 points down at 2,177.62 and 16.03 points down at 1,345.86.
The daily average trade value at DSE was 43.60 percent down at Taka 6,887.18 crore and the trade volume was 46.99 percent up at 22.48 crore shares.
Out of the 335 traded securities, 58 closed higher against 261 losing issues when 15 remained unchanged.
During the week, the top five gainers were Dutch Bangla Bank, BBS Cables, Mercantile Insurance, Shahjalal Islami Bank and Jamuna Bank.
