Stocks closed the week on Thursday mixed at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges.
The broader DSEX of DSE closed the day with 16.73 points up at 6,018.26. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also closed down with 7.99 points fall at 2,173.89 and with 7.41 points fall at 1,316.48.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 662.99 crore from Wednesday’s Taka 582.83 crore and the daily trade declined 14.76 shares from 16.51 crore shares of the previous session.
At DSE, out of the day’s 330 securities, prices of 146 securities closed higher against 143 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Gemini Sea Food, Safko Spinning, Emerald Oil, Wata Chemical and Hakkani Pulp. The major losing companies were Zeal Bangla, Shurwid Industries, BEXIMCO Pharma, Libra Infusion and Shyampur Sugar.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the week mixed as its major CASPI 13.96 points up at 18,597.96.
At CSE, 237 issues were traded. Of those, 98 closed higher and 113 closed lower when 1.2 crore shares worth Taka 44.98 crore changed hands.
