Stockholm attack is to be condemned as ISIS is a dying force

THE atrocious attack carried out by a terrorist the day before yesterday in Stockholm, followed the course of targeting the Nordic region after the shootings at Copenhagen that killed three people in 2015. More recently, after the astonishing attack in London last month, several attacks by using trucks or cars targeting innocent crowds have made the entire European continent dangerous beyond belief. What’s surprising is that, unlike France, UK, and Germany — the neutral peace loving Scandinavian country of Sweden has not fought a war in more than 200 years other than taking part in UN Peacekeeping Missions in a number of conflict zones in recent years, so how could the country qualify in becoming a target for carrying out terror strikes by militant jihadists?

According to Swedish prosecutors the detained man had been arrested on the strongest degree of suspicion of committing a terror crime. Aftonbladet, a Swedish daily, reported a man with light injuries had been arrested in this regard after claiming he was responsible for carrying out the attack. Later it was reported that the suspected attacker was a 39-year-old father-of-four from Uzbekistan. Some reports suggested he had previously posted jihadist propaganda on his Facebook page and had images of people injured in the explosion at the Boston Marathon in April 2013. If the claims are, however, proven true all such posts fomenting militancy and terrorism should come under strict surveillance so to identify possible links and threats of potential terror strikes.

We highly condemn the recent attack carried out in Stockholm while share the feeling of grief with all the family members of the victims. But we want to emphasise that true Muslims cannot be terrorists and our belief is — sick Muslims are recruited by anti-Islam forces to give the Muslims a bad name. Finish the terrorists and you find the Muslim world is with you.
