Rally at the stock market continued on Wednesday for the third consecutive session of the week when the large-cap securities of the market advanced further on active buying.
All the major sectors including shipping, steel and textile gained on the day, maintaining price indices in green zone at the country’s two stock exchanges.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) finished the day 23.61 points up at 4575.97. The blue-chips DS30 and Shariah DSES followed it by 11.05 points up at 1793.72 and 5.72 points up at 1123.47.
Similarly, the prime CASPI index at Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) was 69.26 points up at 14059.49.
The transaction at DSE was also up when volume of the total shares was 10.95 crore and the total value of the shares was Taka 452.14 crore.
At DSE, out of the day’s 325 traded issues, 165 closed higher against 101 losing scrips. At CSE, 261 issues traded while 123 closed higher against 94 closed lower.
The major gaining issues were Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC), National Tubes, All Tex, Renwick Ja and Libra Infu. The major losing issues were Sonargaon textile, Khan Brothers PP Woven Bag Industries Limited, Sino Bangla, Republic Insurance and FBIFIF.
Titas gas topped the turnover leaders followed by Square Pharma, Lafarge Surma Cement Limited (LAFSURCEML), Bangladesh Shipping Corporation and National Tubes.
