The rally at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) continued on Monday for the 5th consecutive session, with transaction rising steadily amid the persisting political uncertainty.
DSEX, the prime index of DSE, gained 10.96 points to 4712.56 when the blue-chip DS30 advanced by 6.0 points to 1749.67 and the Shariah DSES was up by 2.59 points to 1120.46.
The daily transaction also rose to 6.29 crore shares of Taka 268 crore from Sunday’s 5.76 crore shares worth Taka 221 crore. The increase in the value was 21.22 percent and in the volume was 8.6 percent over the previous session as investors’ participation was improving gradually.
Tannery, pharmaceuticals and cement gained most among the sectors when banking, engineering and food and allied stocks battered most.
The market also favoured sellers while 143 issues closed higher, with 119 losing and 49 static issues.
The IFAD Autos maintained the top position of the turnover leaders followed by ACI, MJLBD, Squire Pharma and GP.
The major gainers ACI Formulation, Makson Spinning, IFIL Islami MF1, PF1stMF and ACI when the major losers were IFAD Autos, Alltex, Fareast Finnace, GSP Finance and Reliance Ins.
