The government has taken steps for speeding up the implementation of 1,450 infrastructure projects which will change the overall infrastructure development of the country, said Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on Wednesday.
“We have 1,450 infrastructure related projects and steps have already been taken to accelerate the implementation of these projects,” Kamal said while speaking at the opening session of the ‘Entrepreneurship Week’.
The Entrepreneurship Department of Daffodil International University has organized the week-long event along with 170 countries marking the Global Entrepreneurship Week.
Chairman of the board of trustees of the university Dr Md Sabur Khan presided over the meeting while university vice-chancellor Prof. Dr. Yusuf M Islam, pro-vice chancellor Prof. Dr. SM Mahabubul Haque Majumder, country host of the Global Entrepreneurship Network Sohahel Chowdhury, head of the entrepreneurship department Mohammad Shibli Shahriar and career development centre director Abu Taher Khan took part in the discussion.
The planning minister said Bangladesh achieved a record 7.28 percent economic growth for fiscal year 2016-17 (FY17) and entrepreneurs played the key role in achieving such record. An entrepreneur must have vision and courage and mentality to take risks, he added.
Other programmes of the week include discussion on entrepreneurship, business proposals competition among the young entrepreneurs, startup fair, digital marketing, workshop on marketing strategies and ideas, venture capital policy and discussion on the development of woman entrepreneurs.
