Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque on Thursday said that the government has taken necessary steps to get Covid-19 vaccine in time.
“We want Bangladesh and the rest of the world get rid of coronavirus soon. To eliminate the fatal virus vaccine is most important and
we realize the matter. So that, we have taken process need to get access of Covid-19 vaccine in proper time,” the minister said it at a press briefing organized for ‘National vitamin A plus campaign, 2020’ in his Secretariat office in the capital. But the minister had not revealed the process details they have taken.
Md. Abdul Mannan, Secretary of health services department and Mohammad Ali Noor, Secretary health education and family welfare department, among others, were present.
Zahid Maleque said his ministry is continuing other health related activities during corona outbreak to make the nation a healthier. Health services and health education departments are continuing their programmes and all activities properly.
The health ministry worked day and night in last seven months, he added.
“Officials from the ministry office to the field level worked hard to combat the virus,” he said. The minister claimed that the Covid situation is under control in the country.
“In comparison to other countries, the death rate is lower in our country. The infection rate is also being lower, it has been decreased by 10/11,” the minister said.
He claimed that it is a result of his ministry’s officials and employees’ hard work to contain the disease.
