Steps taken to bring back killers

The government is continuing its drives for bringing back home the fugitive convicted killers of Father of the
Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from various countries.
State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan told this in the Jatiya Sangsad yesterday while replying to a question from treasury bench member Sharif Ahmed.
Information along with photographs of the fugitive killers has already been sent to important airports of the world through the Interpol to determine whereabouts of the killers, he added.
Asaduzzaman said a taskforce headed by the law, justice and parliamentary affairs minister was formed on March 28, 2010 for bringing back home the convicted killers to execute the court verdict.
The state minister said the government as per the legal provision has also taken necessary steps to confiscate all assets of the fugitive condemned killers.
Besides, the government has been maintaining contacts with the governments of the United States and Canada for returning back the condemned killers Rashed Chowdhury and Noor Chowdhury, now staying in the two countries respectively, he informed the House.
