The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Cultural Affairs Ministry on Sunday said necessary measures have been taken for preserving Varendra Museum, Rajshahi.
As part of conservation efforts, the Varendra Museum will be brought under the Cultural Affairs Ministry, this was revealed at a meeting of the committee at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here, an official release said.
Members of the committee — Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor and Pangkaj Nath, among others, attended the meeting with its Chairman Simin Hossain Rimi in the chair.
At the meeting, an initiative for launching publicity campaign has been taken to collect artifacts from individuals across the country.
