Oct 10: Police here on Saturday arrested a woman, her son and three others for their involvement in the sensational murder case of Sami who was brutally killed on October 5.
The arrested were identified as Sami’s stepmother Baby Akter, 38, her son Imtiaz Hossain, 16, and his friends Mehedi Hasan Akond, 16, Mahedi Hasan Khan, 15 and Khaled Mahamud Sujon, 16, while they confessed in the primary interrogation that they applied the technique of murder from Indian TV serial ‘CID.’
Quoting the arrestees’ confessional statements, Bandar Police Station Sub-Inspector M Kamruzzaman told the journalists, “Local businessman M Elias, 46, has two wives while Sami was the son of his second wife.
Baby had previous enmity with Elias’ first wife over land dispute. As continuity of this Baby and her son Imtiaz made a plan to kill Sami to ‘teach his mother a lesson.”
According to the plan, Imtiaz hired the arrested trio against Tk 50, 000 and bought mask, gloves, sharp knife and solution gum from Riazuddin Bazar.
