LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Engineer Khandker Mosharraf Hossain said the government will take necessary step to enhance the professional skill and excellence of engineers.
“All engineers are academically meritorious but they are not being properly evaluated due to lack of professional excellence and expertise,” he said, adding, “So the government’s initiative is a must to make them skillful.”
The minister said this on Friday while speaking at a reunion and seminar of professional engineers at BIAM Foundation auditorium in the capital with the BPERB Chairman and former Vice-Chancellor of BUET Prof Dr Engineer SM Nazrul Islam in the chair.
Bangladesh Professional Engineers’ Registration Board (BPERB) and ‘Mukto Akash’, a magazine based on engineering, architecture and housing industries, organized the programme. Editor of the magazine Engr M Hafizur Rahman presented the keynote paper in the seminar.
Engineer Khandker Mosharraf Hossain urged the professional engineers to work in their respective areas with utmost dedication and sincerity to gain optimum achievement.
“No matter whether you are extra-genius but self-confidence, commitment and firm determination to do something good would hold to reach you the final destination in your career,” he observed.
The present government, he said, would provide all-out cooperation to the engineers specially who would be able to perform an outstanding performance in their respective fields.
Among others, president of Institution of Engineers’ Bangladesh (IEB) Prof Dr Engr M Shamim Z Basunia and advisory editor of ‘Mukato Aksah’ Engr M Abdul Awal spoke on the occasion.
