A petition has been filed with the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on Wednesday seeking stay on the effectiveness of the appointment of Professor Fouzia Rezwan as Principal of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College (VNSC).
After filing the petition, Advocate Eunus Ali Akond, a Supreme Court lawyer, said, “Before it, a petition was filed with the High Court seeking stay on the appointment of the new Principal of VNSC. But the court issued only a

rule upon her appointment and didn’t pass any stay order. That is why a petition has been filed with the Appellate Division seeking stay on her appointment.”
“The Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division may hear the petition on Thursday (today),” said the lawyer. The government appointed Professor Fouzia Rezwan Principal of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College (VNSC) on September 15.
Advocate Eunus Ali Akond filed a writ petition with the High Court challenging the legality of her appointment the following day. After hearing, the High Court on September 17 issued a rule upon the respondents to explain as to why the appointment of Professor Fouzia Rezwan as the Principal of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College should not be declared without lawful authority. But the court didn’t pass any stay order upon her appointment. After the High Court order Attorney General Mahbubey Alam said, now there is no bar on Professor Fouzia Rezwan to join the VNSC as the Principal.
Soon after the High Court order, Professor Fouzia responded to her appointment letter.
