Resume of operation in state-owned jute mills demanded

Chattogram Bureau : Noted trade union leader Sahidullah Chowdhury has demanded the resumption of state-owned jute mills, claiming that the decision to close them was based on “misinformation”.He disclosed it at a press conference held in Chattogram Press Club auditorium on Saturday.The govt shut down about 25,000 workers in 28 state-owned jute mills in June last , citing continued losses.The press meet was told that these closed down jute mills may be started with the formula of public-private partnership (PPP)...
