Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh has recently organized a full-day workshop on “Correspondent Banking Academy on Financial Crime Compliance”. Over 160 senior bankers including CEOs, Heads of Compliance, and senior members of International Divisions, Trade, Operations and Information Technology Divisions from local banks attended the workshop.
Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank Abu Hena Mohd. Razee Hassan graced the event as chief guest. Naser Ezaz Bijoy, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh, inaugurated the event.
CEOs present at the event participated in a lively discussion panel conducted by Muhit Rahman, Managing Director and Head of Financial Institution, Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh. Kamal Hossain- Joint Director of BFIU of Bangladesh Bank explained the national institutional framework for managing anti money laundering (AML) and financial crime compliance (FCC) in Bangladesh. Heidi Toribio, Global Head of Banks and Broker Dealers and Jodie Arthur, Head of Financial Crime Compliance, ASEAN and South Asia also made key presentations on Correspondent Banking, Financial Crime Compliance and Sanctions during the daylong workshop.
